Candles- 4A-Cause
The Gulf Coast Oil Spill inspired Wish-It-Candles to create Candles-4A-Cause.
Our first Candles-4A-Cause will endorse the National Wildlife Federation (NWF). The NWF mission is “to inspire Americans to protect wildlife for our children’s future.”
The NWF is taking a very active role in helping and saving the animals and their habitat in Louisiana Coast effected by the BP Oil Spill. The money donated to this fund will go to one of four areas:
- The NWF is organizing volunteer groups (NWF Gulf Coast Surveillance Teams), who will monitor the oil spill impact on the wildlife. If you are interested in joining this program visit: http://www.nwf.org/oilspillvolunteers
- Repair and restore fragile ecosystems and at risk nesting locations throughout the Gulf Coast, especially for sea turtles and water birds.
- Public Education.
- State and national policy work with goals of receiving government support for Gulf Coast habitat restoration, as well as, efforts to increase protection of coastlines and waters.
